The Color Group regularly publishes in top-tier computer vision conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, as well as specialized venues like CIC and 3DV. We actively collaborate with researchers from both academia and industry worldwide.

Our group is based at the Computer Vision Center (CVC), a research institute with over 30 years of history, currently home to more than 130 professionals and over 35 ongoing PhD theses. The faculty members and students of the Color Group are affiliated with the Department of Computer Science (Departament de Ciències de la Computació) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

🎓 Postdoctoral Fellows

If you have recently completed your PhD or will be finishing soon, we welcome inquiries about potential postdoctoral opportunities in our group. Please reach out directly to one of the faculty members via email, including your CV and a brief description of your research interests.

📘 PhD Students

If you are completing or have completed your Master’s and wish to pursue a PhD at the Color Group, we encourage you to contact one of our faculty members. Funding is available through several competitive programs at the European, Spanish, and Catalan levels.

📘 Master Students

The Color Group is actively involved in the Master’s Degree in Computer Vision a prestigious program jointly organized by five leading universities in Barcelona. Maria Vanrell serves as the coordinator of the Master’s program, Ramon Baldrich coordinates the Machine Learning for Computer Vision module and Javier Vazquez teaches in the Introduction to Human and Computer Vision module. In addition, several of our PhD students contribute regularly to the program through mentoring, project supervision, and teaching support.

The Master’s program is highly competitive, offering only 30 spots per year, with over 200 applications in 2024. Applications are typically open from January to April. For exact deadlines and admission details, please consult the official university website.

💻 Bachelor and Master interships

The CVC offers a Talent Program to promote research among outstanding undergraduate and master’s students. The program targets degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Computational Mathematics, and Data Analytics. Minimum requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or master’s program.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Programming experience, particularly in Python and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow

🌍 Visiting Students

If you are enrolled in a related program at another university, you may be eligible to visit the Color Group for a short-term research stay. These visits are a great opportunity to experience a different research environment and enjoy the city of Barcelona. Interested students should contact a faculty member directly.
